Since I’ve been gone…..

I’ve been as physical as ever (walking everywhere I can now that it’s warm, even “Are you sure you don’t want a ride?” distances), but something isn’t clicking to make it all come together.

Recently I started reading/using “The Writing Diet”. I do o.l. on Weight Watchers when I’m all in, but honestly got more out f the girls I was doing it with than the actual meetings and the current plan isn’t talking to me (I am more suited to the old Core plan ie. Whole grains, not a lot of processed foods). Granted the new plan makes room for more “real food” but something just doesn’t gel. Maybe it’s the way “Points” makes me feel like I am gaming something in my head not totally sure.

I have gotten back to tracking what I’m eating (and why) because of the writing diet. I’ve also written some terrifying because they are so true it’s jarring things in my daily pages. At the moment I am keeping my notebook under my bed, not because anyone would rad it but just knowing some of it is on paper is a dash too real.

So we’ll see how it goes. In other news I’m removing meat for the most part from my diet. Organic Meat or it didn’t happen. Financially that’s enough to cut what little I was consuming in the first place by more than half.

Off to make oatmeal sans dairy, but a teaspoon of my homie Peanut butter for creaminess.

to declare them not to follow through that is…

1. Taking the Month off from the scale

Not because it discourages me or I feel like I’m weighing in too much. It’s actually an odd thing where I’ll have a breakthrough and lose a bit and feel all untouchable and like Pizza isn’t a sometimes food and meanwhile I still have weight to lose. So for Feb. I’m going to eat well and exercise and know that if I do what I’m supposed to I will lose…

2. Continue to distance myself from eating quantities of Carbs

The version of Weight Watchers that worked fr me was called Core..you basically ate fresh whole foods and as little processed food as possible. In addition any carb heavy foods were to be eaten in only one meal of the day and preferably whole grains. I’ll be using/tracking with the new Points Plus program, but adhering to this rule.

3. Focus all the energy i can spend obsessing elsewhere

There are 3 websites I currently have in different stages I would like to grow. The time I could spend worrying over all the small things I will focus here…I also have to continue to get my work/freelance structure together which brings us to..

4. Continue to organize myself/stay organized

I finally feel like I have a bit of a handle on my email/response time to emails…Next is working through all the bookmarks I’ve deemed important/cutting down on online clutter.

5. Get in at least 5 miles of walking 20 out of the 28 days of this month

According to Gmaps I got in 3.35 mi today…the impending storm/icy sidewalk situation outside kept me from feeling secure enough to do more.

So I’ve been a bit silent but still here…and with 90% certainty that by the end of the week I will lose at least an ounce.

That’s right kids I am the Worlds oldest Third Grader and will most likely be having my tonsils evicted from their home of 31 years…Thankfully there are advances in Science for Adult babies like me in the form of something called “Thermal Welding” and some other mess that will make me scab faster and bleed less. This means it’s same day procedure and I will basically not be allowed to speak for 2 days or so and then I’m back on top.

Expect more of me between Friday and Sunday…I’m already building my Hulu queue and working on a To-do list that doesn’t involve phone calls..I also have my Curious George notepad ready for communicating with the roommates and a supply of Applesauce, Jello Cups and Butternut Squash soup ready to party…

It’s 2011 and I am 95% moved out of the old apartment (I have a mattress and a lamp that need to be collected) and into the new.

I also hopefully have a Hot yoga/Movement Studio that I’ll be doing Work/Study at. In the meantime the move has put me a few blocks from Prospect Park and the Botanical Gardens so I have space to get my walk on.

Food shopping/Meal Planning will start to happen in the next few days as I get settled. I really want to aim to use some of the recipes on Clean Eating and eventually get a subscription. Otherwise I’m back on the Watchers of Weight.

I have a list of Weight/Fitness Goals in addition to the other Goals I have for 2011. Here’s a quick roundup:

  • Work my way towards cooking/eating 80% of my meals at home
  • Drink at least 3 liters of water a day
  • Whip My Hair farewell at plus size stores (I am a solid 16 and ride a weird border of being able to shop straight size, but it’s hit or miss on fit)
  • Be physically capable: I have absolutely no Upper Body strength at the moment
  • Go camping/hiking in the Spring/Summer this year
  • Finish learning how to swim
