I’m watching the first episode right now online… I feel as if this isn’t very healthy or a good thing for long term results.

Agree with you both, but I did like that she was primarily happy in her social life (Homecoming Queen, friends) and that towards the end the mother admitted/talked with her about how her weight was tied up in her identity as well.
That’s a big deal. When I lost in the beginning from 335 to now I lost a few friends and now down the road I know it’s not just because my attitude changed (mostly for the better) but because the dynamic of how they thought about me and the way we interacted (No more let’s get super greedy binge dinners) changed and neither of us were able to recognize it.
